Profile
I seek to provide children with enough foundation to trust themselves on their journey to become lifelong learners. I want to work in an environment with boundaries but not barriers, to encourage problem solving, thinking skills, and creativity.
Experience
Placer Union High School District, August 2006-Present
.4 Teacher for 9th-12th Grade Special Day Class and .1 Functional Skills Teacher for 9th-10th students. Duties include Language Arts, Math, Career Skills, Community Based Education, Fine Art, and Physical Education.

Placer Union High School District, 2001- 2006
Substitute for grades 9-12 in all subject areas. Taught Summer school English to 9th and 10th grade students June - July 2003. Taught Summer school English to 11th and 12th grade June 2004.

KID A.R.T.S., 1996-2001
Founded and operated children’s art studio, providing formal art education to Placer County youth, ages 5-15. Taught classes in many art media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, woodworking, hand-built ceramics, photography, stained and fused glass, pottery wheel, mixed-media sculpture, drama and Orff music. Facilitated art field trips, school assemblies, school-wide art exhibitions, hands-on art activities at community events, craft workshops, storytelling, writers workshops, birthday parties, summer art camps and corporate family events. Taught art classes and workshops for adults, including classes for developmentally disabled adults, fine arts for Placer Adult School, contracted art instruction for Alternative Education High School, teacher inservice in Placer and Sacramento Counties, and four years of Hands On Art Across the Curriculum teacher training workshops through the Placer County Office of Education.
Managed personnel, including teachers, staff and numerous high school interns. Developed and distributed marketing materials. Performed accounting, budgeting and materials acquisition tasks. Managed associated art gallery and property management businesses.

Skills
I am a great communicator. I have a vast amount of event and program coordination and innovation experience. I have a comfort with all fine art media and an enthusiasm for students of all ages and abilities. My work is professional and integrity bound. I focus on enhancing self-esteem in peers and students. I am a hard worker and I am very dependable.

Personal
My priorities are my family, my health and staying true to my art. It is vital that creativity plays a central role in my work. I like to meditate, walk in the canyon, do yoga, garden, play with my children and read to enhance my health and well-being.
